- A five-day
workshop covering advances in agroecological issues facing South
Florida and beyond by experts from FIU, USDA, Archbold Biological
Station, other agencies and farmers.
- Includes
a three-day field trip to USDA Horticultural Research Station,
Miami, and MacArthur AgroEcological Research Center, Lake Placid,
Florida, with paid lodging and boarding (from Wednesday to Friday).
- Suitable
for high school teachers and middle school teachers teaching food
and agricultural sciences, environmental and biological sciences,
and general science education.
- Participation
compensation of $300 per participant.
- Teacher Education
Credits (TEC), pending approval.
- Application
deadline: April 25th, 2008

send a two-page resume, one recommendation letter
from your supervisor, and a one-page statement, indicating
what impact your participation at the workshop would have on the
teaching program at your school to Dr. Mahadev Bhat or Dr. Krish
Jayachandran.
