AGROECOLOGY/ENVIRONMENTAL
STUDIES
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
For a degree from Miami Dade College
&
Florida International University
A college scholarship up to $25,000 is available for one qualified
student of Miami Dade College (MDC) to pursue the Environmental
Studies BS/BA degree at Florida International University (FIU),
along with a Certificate in Agroecology.The purpose of the scholarship
is to help the selected student make transition from a two-year
program to a four-year degree college in the general field of
agricultural and natural resources sciences and obtain knowledge
and skills necessary to pursue advanced education and career in
the above fields. Upon satisfactory progress throughout the program
at MDC and FIU, additional funding is available for computers,
agricultural internships, conference travel and graduate school
visits.
WHO CAN APPLY: Full-time students at MDC who are in their
late freshman year or early sophomore year. Student of any major
may apply, but must be willing to pursue the Environmental Studies
degree at FIU and agriculture/environmental science-related education
and career. Minimum GPA of 3.00 and SAT score of 1600 (3 sections).
Applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident and a Hispanic.

letter, & MDC transcript to Dr. Clemente Fernandez in the
Department of Biology, Health and Wellness, Miami Dade College
North Campus, Room # 1271-2 on or before December 15th, 2008.
