Vacancy Announcement upcoming for PPQ Plant Health Safeguarding Specialists in South Florida

A vacancy announcement that will be released soon for positions with the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Plant Protection and Quarantine (USDA APHIS PPQ) in Florida. USDA APHIS PPQ FL will be advertising to fill a combined eight PPQ Plant Health Safeguarding Specialists (PHSS)/ PPQ Officer positions in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Other opportunities are also currently available, including Plant Protection Technician positions at various locations in Florida.

We will be announcing these PHSS positions two ways:

1. Merit Promotion (for current qualified Federal personnel); and

2. Recent Graduate (can be outside Federal government but must have completed your qualifying degree in the last 2 years or last 6 years if you have Veteran’s status).

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including the following specialized experience and/or education, as identified by grade level.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:

A: Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

B: Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
