The program relies on dedicated volunteers who have an interest in gardening and in giving back to their communities. These gardeners are trained to become experts in on how to design, plant and care for plants and landscapes in a Florida-Friendly way, and manage gardening related issues.

2010 Fall Gardening Workshop

During the Market Gardening 101 Workshop, Gus Jones from Paradise Farms showed students different techniques of gardening to maximize yields and manage problems while still keeping the garden sustainable. The workshop was followed by a fresh, organic lunch filled with nutritious greens from the garden and other food source. The workshop, hosted by the Garden Club, answered many questions and has allowed students to learn these methods and apply it to FIU's growing garden.
